Return to the begining

My first sport pictures were alpine ski and snowboard. Last month I decided to go back where I started and surprisingly, after 7 years I hadn' t lost my enjoyment for the winter photographs.

Here are a few exemples.

London: a modern city

Last Monday, I went for the first time to Canary Wharf, a business centre just a few miles towards the east from the centre of London. What a surprise! I knew London as a very old city, very conservative and Canary Wharf is completely different. I didn't feel like I was in England. It's very modern, clean and quiet.
I spent all day shooting the architecture and I was lucky enough to have a beautiful day. I used a Canon EOS 1DS mark II and a few lens series L such 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 IS.

A few days in Granville

I spent a few days in Granville and unfortunately the weather was overcast all the time. I have just managed to shoot a few pictures after the sunset and I have got a few hours of sunshine.

The picture on the left is the type of photograph that can be used easily for illustration. I was walking along the harbour and I saw this boat with the french flag moving in the wind. I quickly set my camera before the rest of the day light in the sky disappeared. I chose this angle so that the flag could be seen and it's clear this was taken in a harbour in France.

Moon rise

Moon rise
This photograph was taken this afternoon. I used software to calculate what time the moon would rise but unfortunately it had been foggy all day and I wasn't sure if it would lift. By the time this was taken the moon was clearly visible and this picture is the result.

Canon EOS1ds Mark2 with 70-200 2.8L IS with extender X1.4 at f8 using a tripod.
